Mission Possible: Sustainable Homes in Our Community
Mission Possible:
The Mission Possible Group comprises members of the City of Charles Sturt (Council) Community who convened in 2023 in response to an invitation from Council to create an action plan to support carbon emissions reduction in our community. Members of the group live, work or have some other association with the Charles Sturt area, and are diverse in background, age range, experience and specialist expertise. They are a passionate group of volunteers who have a shared interest in sustainability and community building. Mission Possible’s current focus is on their Energy Advisory Program which has been developed to give community members free, impartial, and tailored advice on how to reduce their energy bills and adapt their homes to allow them to live more sustainably. The group see this as an even more important and sought after service as a result of the current cost-of-living crisis.
Panel Discussion:
Last Saturday, Mission Possible hosted an inspiring panel discussion on sustainable homes in our community. From energy-efficient design to the benefits of electrification, our three local panellists shared valuable insights and practical steps we can take to build a more sustainable future—starting right at home!
A huge thank you to our panellists Joel, Ivana and Ekkehard for sharing their experiences, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation.
What’s Next?
Mission Possible’s next Energy Advisory Session is coming up on Friday, 28 June. We’ll be sharing more details soon!
