Unley Central Community Group
Meetings: 1st Wednesday of the month 1pm for cuppa and chat, meeting 1.30-2.30pm
The Unley Central group meets in Hyde Park. We are mainly a discussion/support group but some of us team up with members of the Parkside Group (which meets at night) in the Garden Group.
Our format for meetings is to each share one or two sustainable actions or issues of concern from the previous month. Then we have a discussion on a specific topic. The group has grown to about a dozen members and the discussions are very lively!
Once a year we have a shared vegetarian meal with the Parkside Group.
We’ve also done a Spring bushwalk in Belair National Park to look at native vegetation and problem weeds.
Our discussions have included:

- Watching the film Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard
- How to compost
- The ecological footprint of goods we buy that resulted in us sending a letter about this issue to Choice magazine
- Natural burial
