Green loans for Household Sustainability
I was talking with one of our members who does assessments of household sustainability for Green Loans. People have high energy costs without realising what contributes to their energy use. He said: ‘A good example is a house I assessed last week. They have 48 (yes 48!) 50W halogen down lights in the house and want to use the Green Loan to put 2kw of solar panels on the roof. I advised them to change at least some of the lights first, which they agreed to do. It hadn’t occurred to them that all of the output from the panels would be absorbed by inefficient lighting.’ Contact Beth: bmylius@chariot.net.au if you want to know more.
