Beth Mylius — 1932-2022
Beth Mylius, who died recently, and her husband Ray were the founders of Sustainable Communities SA Inc. in 2007. The words below were written by Anne Bunning and spoken at the memorial gathering for Beth on Tuesday 12 July 2022 at Karka Pavilion, Belair National Park.
My friendship with Beth Mylius was very special. It spanned 47 years. It’s quite a challenge to reflect on all that in a few minutes. But don’t panic, I’m not going to go through the whole 47 years.
I’ll talk about Beth the person, the amazing friendship we had and the strength it gave me. And I’ll talk about her professional role, because we worked in a similar capacity in international development and poverty alleviation. The wonderful person we are all here to celebrate today shines through in all the stories.
