2025 Annual General Meeting
We held our Annual General Meeting on Thursday May 29 via Google Meet. It was fantastic to see not only committee members from SCSA, but to have Project Coordinators from several of our member groups, including:
- Bowden Brompton Repair Café
- Churchill Greening
- Grow Grow Grow Your Own
- Hills Environment Centre
- One Planet Market
- Pasadena St Marys Action Group
- Payneham Repair Café
- Seacliff Community Produce Swap
Membership
This year, our organisation has switched to a new membership platform Chargebee, to cut down on administrative burden and streamline our processes for renewal.
The fees have remained:
- $10 per person, per year
- $15 per household, per year
For those not wanting to use Chargebee, we also have alternative methods of payment; in- person at One Planet Market on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Payneham Community Centre, or electronic transfer.
We have recently welcomed some new groups as members: Electrify Adelaide, Mission Possible and Churchill Greening. It was also wonderful to see a representative of Pasadena St Marys Action Group expressing an interest in collaboration with Mission Possible – we love seeing our members work together!
Volunteers
In the annual reports from four of our Repair Café projects, we calculated that volunteers at the Repair Cafes have spent over 3,300 hours this year keeping items out of landfill! From the yearly reporting of 11 of our project groups, there are more than 190 volunteers across South Australia working to make their communities more environmentally
sustainable!
Sustainable Communities SA Committee Updates
We thank our Communications Advisor Bibi Medved for her efforts and expertise over the years she has served on our committee. Bibi has stepped down in her committee role to pursue other projects; she has worked hard with our Communications Lead Ana Paula Ferreira de Brito on a new communications structure and will continue supporting us in a communications advisory role.
In line with SCSA governance, one committee appointment is now open. For anyone interested in joining the SCSA committee, please address your application to info@sustainablecommunitiessa.org.au
